The drive face boss serves as the central hub of the variator assembly, connecting the variator to the crankshaft while providing the mounting surface for the movable drive face. It ensures concentric rotation and transfers torque to the CVT belt.

Installation guidance: Press-fit onto the crankshaft with the chamfered edge facing outward. Ensure the Woodruff key is properly seated. Torque the variator nut to 60-65 Nm using a torque wrench. Check for axial runout less than 0.05mm.
Replace if the splines show rounding or stripping, if the taper surface has galling marks, or if there is detectable wobble in the variator assembly at idle.
